Knee Length Commission
Started 10/03/25 Finished 10/20/25
This commission came in at the end of September 2025, from a friend of mine. She has been super supportive of my work, my dream to continue being a fiber artist, and of the big goals I give myself.
She gave me plenty of notice for this to be done in time for the holiday gifting season, and I planned out the project over a month period, to make it in the entire month of October. I had it completed in a week accumulatively.
This experience led me to the realization that I can and would prefer to include knit ribbing in my crocheted projects, for more style, and to take it easy on my hands. The end result is a knee length cardigan with beautiful stitch work, and pockets.
I would love to make myself one honestly.
This was the first time I knit the ribbed cuff on a crochet cardigan, typically I would crochet it fpdc, bpdc. But that ribbing hurts my hands terribly to do. So I made this switch, and it was glorious, and surprisingly easy to do.
I finished each half of this cardigan back to back across two days of working on it, and then connected them down the back to begin working the body extension.
Once the body length was added, I picked up and knit the bottom hem, and once that was cast off, I picked up around the entire collar and knit about 2 inches of ribbing, the bind off took hours.
